16 years ago today!

Bob and I were married!! I can't believe it has been 16 years, and I love him more than ever!!! We have 5 beautiful kids and a wonderful life! I also gained a wonderful new family with Bob's family who have helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. I couldn't of asked for anything better!

First snow day of the year

Well we have our first snow day of the year. We got about an inch of sleet followed by an inch or two of snow. The kids are very unhappy about no school. Michael cried himself to sleep last night because he didn't want to miss his holiday party or band, not to mention the 6th grade versus the teachers in volleyball. Dawn was suppose to perform with her flute ensemble during 6th hour at the school administration building. Parker didn't want to miss his holiday party. Clayton was the only one not to disappointed about it.
I was suppose to have my work Christmas party tonight but am not sure that is still going to happen.

Colin's 4 year check up and update on musical

Well, Dawn and Clayton did not get a part in the musical, they are both upset they didn't get in.

Colin had his well child check up today. He know weighs 28 pounds and is 37.5 inches tall. He is up 3 pounds and 2.5 inches from last year. He is still little but healthy and that is what we care about.

Middle School Musical

So Dawn and Clayton's middle school is doing the musical "Back to the 80's" (it should have great music!), anyways, Dawn and Clayton both tried out today, and they both got call backs!!! I am soo excited for them! They go back tomorrow after school to try out again. I am not sure who is more nervous them or me!

Clayton

So Clayton was being bullied at school, poor kid, first year in middle school and some kid decides to bully him. Thankfully he is at a great school and Clayton filled out a peer concern report. Bob called the school on friday and we were called today and told that the kid is being dealt with, and that if he says anything else to Clayton that Clayton is to report it immediately to his counselor. The also changed Clayton schedule so he no longer is any classes with this kid. I am just relieved the school is making sure it is dealt with right away. Hopefully this is the end of it.

Halloween

Well another Halloween has come and gone. My kids had fun. Dawn was a princess, she went out trick or treating with friends, the first time she hasn't gone with us. Clayton was Tigger, he didn't really want to be but as we couldn't afford new costumes he was a trooper and went with what we had. Michael was a soldier. The helmet he wore was a birthday present from my dad, it was an actual Army helmet from the Korean war. Parker was Thomas the Tank engine, because his best friend Caleb was James, the red engine. Colin was a dragon (thank you Aunt Julie for giving us the costume!)

Zoo

We went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago with just the boys (Dawn was with friends) We had a great time. Colin loves the zoo he would go everyday if we would let him.

Michael's award

Michael got an award at school last week. He got the All Star award, which an award handed out by his specials teacher (PE, Spanish, Music, Media, art etc).

Primary Program

So today was our kids primary program. Michael, Parker and Colin (Colin's very first program). They all did great on their parts, Colin even had his part memorized. Michael and Parker sang the first verse of I am a child of God in spanish with two other boys in the ward. Then Parker sang I am a child of God with his friend Zoe as a duet at the end of the program. Colin was kicked out of the stands halfway through (thankfully he already said his part) because he wouldn't sit down and was showing off for the congregation. It was kinda funny to watch him. Sister Robinson tried to get him to sit still but another boy and him were egging each other on and we were sitting in the first row so Colin was brought to us. Oh well, I guess we will always remember his first Sacrament primary program.

Do you remember dreading how your school pictures would turn out? I never thought mine were any good. Well, I was wrong, in highschool I took much better pictures than I do now! We had pictures taken at work. Colin's turned out awesome, mine, horrible!!!

School

Well school is up and going for a few weeks now. The kids are all doing great! Parker loves his new school. Clayton is thriving in Middle School.
I am working full time at the preschool now and I am finding it very tiring, hopefully I adjust and get use to it.
Oh, and Dawn and Clayton are doing cross country and their first meet is September 9, so only a week away.

Bob's job

Well we got bad news on Friday afternoon. It seems they are phasing out Bob's position. So August 29, 2008 will be his last day at Fox 42. Hopefully Bob will find something by then so we aren't without money next month. I am just glad I am now full time so at least we won't be completely broke.

Poor Bob!

So last Sunday Bob and Dawn and Colin were rough housing. Bob was moving one way when Dawn pulled her up the other and the two collided, with the back of Dawn's head catching Bob's glasses. He was left with a huge, swollen black eye! Thankfully the swelling is down but it is still black.

Clayton and scout camp

Clayton has been gone all week at scout camp, and I have to say, "I miss him sooo much!!!" I have never had one of my kids gone this long! Dawn's YW camp was only for 4 days and 3 nights, Clayton has been gone for 5 nights and 5 days. He gets back sometime today, YaH!!!!!!

Finally another post

I know, I am horrible at updating this!!! Summer is started and off to a pretty good start. We spent a week in Utah with Bob's family and had a great time. The kids all want to go back, especially after the storm we had a week ago that put us without electricity for 4 days. We had winds that got up to 115 mph and some people had some major damage in their yards. Whole trees were uprooted.
I am working full time at the preschool this summer and enjoying it though I do come home exhausted.

Parker is getting ready to start in his new school the beginning of next month. It is what they call a focus school and will be year round. They will be Learning throught technology and communication and they are building a television studio in the school. Seeing as Parker wants to be a weather man he should enjoy it.

(Dawn didn't go to Bryce with us, she stayed at the cabin with grandpa, Aunt Julie and Uncle Trent, and cousins.)

Minnesota

We got to spend some time up in Minnesota with Bob's brother Doug and his family. We had a great time going to The Mall of America, Ikea, and the National Eagle Center. We met them at the Spam Museum in Austin Minnesota on our first day.

Dawn

We are so proud of Dawn! We got the newsletter from the school and she made Outstanding scholar honor roll. Her GPA is 3.80.

Sesame Street Live

Saturday, January 5th my sister and I took Colin and her two kids to see Sesame Street Live. Colin had a great time and loved seeing Elmo, Mommy loved seeing Cookie monster!

We had a great Christmas! The kids were happy with everything they got. I can't believe it is over already though!
